How to create requirement traceability matrix with TFS

The requirement traceability matrix maps the relationships between requirements, design, development, and testing. But its true value often remains untapped in various projects.
Managing Traceability with TFS:
Track changes in requirements and their relations within the TM. This record spans the software lifecycle and undergoes scrutiny by QA Managers, SW Directors, and Product Managers.
For QA teams, the matrix holds immense importance, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all requirements in test cases.
Here’s a Successful TFS Traceability Matrix Example:
- If using the User Story methodology in TFS:
- Open a new US in TFS and navigate to the ‘All Links’ tab.
- Select ‘Link to’ and ‘Add Link to User Story’.
- Choose ‘Link type’ as ‘Child’.
- In ‘Link Details’, enter the relevant test case’s ID and confirm.
- Linking bugs to test cases:
- Create a new bug and access the ‘All Links’ tab.
- Choose ‘Link to’ and ‘Add Link to New Bug’.
- Opt for ‘Link type’ as ‘Parent’.
- In ‘Link Details’, input the relevant test case or User Story ID and confirm.
