How to Develop a New Habit by a Letter Method.
Academic Research shows that it takes people around 21 days to develop a new habit.
21 days to go to the gym, 21 days to eat healthy, 21 days from anything else.
Studies show that the method of persistence over this period of time should bring about a change in a habit.
The habits change can work in two ways:
One to create a new habit and the other to break an old habit.
The first time that I heard about the letter method I was very skeptical about the results that I can achieve.
My main problem was to recruit motivation to move to the process of changing habits.
Before I started using the 21-day method I tried different methods but unfortunately, it did not hold water for more than a week and a half.
See examples from my experiments?
I have experienced to eat fewer sugars. I tried to get a habit of getting up before six in the morning to get more things done during the day and finally I tried to practice and be in good shape.
All my experiences led to the same result that lasted exactly one week.
All my beginnings to change habits lasted no more than a week and a half …
Curious to Know How I was able to change it and How I succeed to develop a new habit?
I managed to make a change with Letter Method!
What is the letter method mean?
The idea is to create motivation in small steps that will ultimately result in 21 days.
Let’s suppose you are interested in putting a new habit into your life.
For example, you would like to do the daily exercise: it can be a 30-minute walk outside, running in the fresh air, or just home exercises that should improve your mood and health.
Take a diary – on Sunday that you were able to meet the target you wrote “W”, on Monday the letter “E” on Tuesday “L”, feel the direction?
After eight days, you will see the word “WELL DONE”.
To reach a 21-day goal you will need to get a written word well done twice +.
This method divides the effort into small steps and does not go straight to the challenge of three weeks.
And what happens, for example, after three days you started the method and returned home so tired and exhausted that you could not meet the goal you set for yourself?
The answer is simple: erase the letters you have already written and start again.
When you want to reach the goal there are no concessions and excuses.
There will always be someone to whisper to us “tomorrow” “not today” “I am too tired” and so on.
After many failures before I tried the method of letters and I want to say: ” This method it is much easier to challenge yourself on a daily level”.
Finally to see the word well done and to be proud of me that I managed to meet the goal I set for me.
You can also make a difference in your life through good habits and say goodbye to habits that are less vital to you.
